From the KAOS Crypt: Allied Body - Titanium Wetsuit

Allied Body - Titanium Wetsuit

As music director at KAOS 89.3 FM here in Olympia I often find myself looking at a piece of mystically perplexing music media. Recently I've had the pleasure of listening to a series of old experimental tapes from our "crypt." The crypt is basically where music goes when people stop playing it. Sometimes it ends up as fodder for one of our fundraisers or CD Sales, but inevitably it collects dust and is forgotten. No longer! I am resurrecting some of the precious little gems. Including this weeks: Allied Bodies "Titanium Wetsuit."

Self released by a Mr. Steven Suski in 1998, Allied Body is eerie, cooky, grainy and lo-fi. It features some lo-fi drum machine and synth sounds as well as some more organic creature / plant noises. The album was recorded on a 4-track between 1997 and 1998 in Olympia, WA. Somewhere between the silver apples and a cosmic garage sale, this local artist somehow was mislabed as "indie" (as opposed to "local" a more favorable designation) by a former music director. Truly forgotten, typing Allied Body Titanium Wetsuit into Google yields no result. Any further information on the artist would be lovely!

Enjoy the first tape of many (hopefully) to be posted here. I enjoy track 7 "Combatants."

Jam on,

Weewl
